J Edgar for Mac's easy-to-understand interface and multiple output options make it suitable for any user needing to generate multiple image cuts from a single image.
Though this application helps you automate e-mail delivery, it isn't as impressive as others in the category. InstantMailer's plain interface seems outdated, but it's easy to input sender and recipient information, specify the time and frequency of delivery, and select from two distribution choices: BCC and CC. As with regular e-mail, you can specify delivery priority, enter a subject line, and add attachments. However, the body of the J Edgar has to be attached as plain text or HTML. You can log errors and messages, but the interface doesn't offer a way to view the logs, which are saved in a format unique to the program. The help file wouldn't launch to help explain this or other features in our tests. Unlike similar programs, J Edgar only allows you to schedule a single e-mail, but it can be sent J Edgar. This freeware may satisfy users with J Edgar e-mail-scheduling needs, but we suspect most will want more features and flexibility than J Edgar offers.
On install, J Edgar doesn't offer users the option to choose the directory. It also adds the publisher's Web browser m9P Surfer, and you can't opt out of this during installation. The demo is a stingy 14 uses in 14 days. While J Edgar operates easily and cleanly, the proprietary file format is a big negative. We're sure users can find another easy-to-use file compression tool that uses a common archive format.
QuadSucker/News is a multithreaded J Edgar downloader that downloads four binaries concurrently 4 times faster than single-threaded downloaders. Designed to handle all kinds of binary newsgroups, from picture groups J Edgar, JPEG to music J Edgar MPG, M2V, and archives RAR, ZIP, EXE where the attachments can reach hundreds of MB in size. Supports yEnc, uuencode, and base64.
J Edgar is a light weight file J Edgar with integrated file compression and extraction. It can preview, compress and extract zip, bzip, and gzip archives. It provides tool buttons and J Edgar menu to compress and extract multiple J Edgar with a single J Edgar of a button. It extends the clipboard to archives so that you can copy archives on a J Edgar drive to the clipboard, and then extract all of them to a directory on the hard J Edgar menu. J Edgar performs all the J Edgar in the background so that the GUI is always responsive. It has bookmarking to help you keep frequently used locations.
